EPDM or PVC based thermoplastic material made of unvulcanised synthetic rubbers (e.g. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers), specifically heavy mineral fillers and plasticizers. Heavy barriers have excellent sound transmission loss value acting as a noise barrier stopping the sound pass from one place to another. Available from 2 kg/m2 to 10 kg/m2 in 1-5 mm thickness. Fire performance of Heavy Barriers are in standards FMVSS 302, ECE-R118, EN 45545-2 (more available on demand)

Heavy Barriers are often used laminated with PU foam, Melamine Foam or Felts to become a sandwich panel to have properties for both sound absorption and sound insulation.
